Pros

I appreciate the amount of work they put into SAP ecosystem. It's something.

Cons

What I do not and will not appreciate it for, is the piece of trash that came out of their idea. As a developer, you better feel suicidal if you think about starting working with the biggest disaster of a programming language. The language is locked down on their own kernel, so you can only do what they want you to do. Further more, the libraries of functions they put at your disposal may work, under some conditions, but you will never know that because they are not documented, anywhere. The only documentation you will find are the indians on forums. It's a straight up joke. Some of the mostly used functions are not even working properly, risking to end up spending a day or two finding an alternative. SAP is aware of their "amazing" work, that's why they are pushing their Cloud agenda so hard at every opportunity. They want everybody to ditch ABAP for ever and rely on other programming languages made by people who know what they are doing. Pathetic.

Pros

The people at SAP are genuinely nice, and the culture is generally supportive. The work-life balance is good to an extent, but when you're busy, you're BUSY. SAP is highly complex so expect to take a year to ramp up.

Cons

Only way to get a high salary is if you're hired externally. They do not reward employees who are loyal to the company. Closed opportunities often have to go through the Compensation Exception Committee, creating uncertainty around earnings. Prepare for constant change, whether that's solutions being removed from your sales bag, account shifts, territory realignments, or changing compensation policies. Quotas can be difficult to attain
