Pros

-nice San Diego laid back culture; not as cuthroat as some of the new tech places. -hard wall offices w/ a door for a lot of people - decent peers - a techie's dream but not so great on the business side - compensation pack was good though 2015.

Cons

-"has been" tech company (best years were mid 1990s to 2015), i.e. young engineers go elsewhere - very top heavy in titles - rolling layoffs w/ staggered exit dates so as not to trigger WARN act. - CFO running the ship in 2017. - no vision; still stuck in the past of 1) new products need patent licensing model and 2) how to move a bit from here to there quicker. - merging w/ NXP soon which has been a bigger headcount, i.e. more layoffs. - everything in R&D a couple of degree separation from mainline of business.
