Pros

Financially backed-up by the corporation famous for global distribution of chemicals. Not clear expectations makes people who are not highest performers to not feel the pressure of expectations on performance level. There is a lot of nice & modest people working for Plantix in Berlin office (developers, agronomists, designers). Plantix is not hesitant to pay competitive compensation to people with expertise to help them clean the chaos.

Cons

People with expertise might struggle with lack of expectations, processes, goals, workflows. Collaboration can be difficult since decisions are always made top down. Better not expect your idea will be considered. Office in India struggles with even bigger lack of working processes and can't be very difficult to bridge the gap between India & Berlin office in terms of collaborations. Extremely noticeable lack of management expertise. Also, to have an app free for farmers, they are compensating with earning by selling toxic products. I don't believe having a free app is more important then selling pesticides and damaging the environment and soil forever.

Pros

You get to work with Farmers! And earlier for farmers (but not true anymore)

Cons

I genuinely wish I had a better experience, but my time at this company was deeply disappointing. There was a constant gap between what was promised and what the reality felt like. The culture is often described as “family-like,” yet the day-to-day environment felt anything but supportive. Instead, it frequently came across as stressful and, at times, quite toxic. It was particularly disheartening to see how leadership and culture played out in practice. The founders often came across as distant and somewhat rigid, with an apparent belief that occasional parties or team trips could compensate for deeper cultural and structural issues. While such gestures are appreciated, they do not replace genuine support, transparency, and respect for employees. Decision-making was another major source of frustration. Several higher-level or management roles appeared to be filled through personal connections rather than capability, which was reflected in the quality and consistency of decisions. The company frequently emphasized the absence of hierarchy, and while there was indeed autonomy in day-to-day work, employee input rarely seemed to influence meaningful decisions. Over time, this created a strong sense that effort, ideas, and initiative were not truly valued. I had hoped for a place where I could learn, contribute meaningfully, and grow, but unfortunately, that was not my experience. The overall environment ultimately felt frustrating and demotivating.

Pros

Mission-driven product with real-world impact in the agri-tech space. Opportunity to work on large-scale consumer apps with a global user base. Supportive teammates and generally collaborative engineering culture. Good exposure to modern Android development practices and cross-functional work. Flexible work environment during most phases of employment.

Cons

Organizational changes and restructuring created uncertainty at times. Communication during transitions could be more transparent.
