Pros

Personio once was a great place to work, where challenging projects where give and growth opportunities where there to take, now it's just: - Great offices and snacks as any other SaaS company. - Good personalities among professionals, and the individual contributors are great to collaborate with.

Cons

Here’s a revised version with improved grammar and coherence: There are too many managers in the organisational structure, indicating a lack of common vision and hindering project execution, activities, and team efficiency. At this point, the most you can expect is a monotonous job with no opportunities for growth or skill development. The company culture is solely focused on the bottom line, with little regard for the professional development of its workforce. During my last year at Personio, I never heard a single employee speak positively about their job or feel energised by the projects and challenges they were given. On the contrary, dissatisfaction was a shared sentiment across all offices and locations. Moreover, during my time at Personio, the company underwent four restructurings, reflecting poor headcount and workforce planning, as well as a lack of consideration for the employees affected, and they haven't learned from their mistakes. Personio once offered flexibility and accountability, but it has since devolved into a culture of micromanagement and rigidity. The once-promising European unicorn has been reduced to nothing more than an American pony. What was once a gold mine of opportunities and challenges is now just a deep hole—one that, once you fall into, you can’t wait to escape.

Pros

Smart collaborative colleagues at the lower IC levels.

Cons

Personio is a dying company. The over-complexity of the company's technical systems is comical. Every attempt to simplify seems to lead to more complexity as things get half migrated and left to rot. Engineering leadership seems clueless and unable to present a clear plan-of-action to get things on track. Principal engineers force engineering time to be spent on silly projects that don't move the needle long-term. There is an overall aversion to taking the time to learn deeply about systems being used. Personio feels like a combination of all of the negatives of both a startup and a mature tech company, with none of the positives. The tech is half assed and duct taped together, but still somehow everything moves at a glacial pace. There is a mass shared delusion at the company that an IPO is in reach. No investor is going to buy this company's junk shares on the open market.
