Pros

salary and SOME benefits on par with big tech. That is it!

Cons

No life insurance, no partner/kids healthcare, over inflated an over hyped shares that are paper money. They do not worth a thing! Changed to a controlling culture calling people in the office mandatory 3 days. Terrible product, even worse leadership decizions. A german company that built a product that is literally worse than Gsheet/excel. Their "innovation" is if you are using pen and paper. Everything else is above this so called Intelligent HR platform. Reporting is awful and basic (even lower than basic in some cases, if you can imagine). Product suitable only for Germany and even there they are struggling. Attrition is incredibly high with no retention, career development plans. Just pretend work from Leadership. Company survey showed lack of trust in employees, burnout rates all time high, a need for psychological safety and changes that make sense. CEO decides direction one day from one to the next and to help people with wellbeing they introduce breathing exercises (LOL). Also scoring points on trust by asking people to be 3 days in mandatory. Would not recommend even if it's the last resort!

Pros

Smart collaborative colleagues at the lower IC levels.

Cons

Personio is a dying company. The over-complexity of the company's technical systems is comical. Every attempt to simplify seems to lead to more complexity as things get half migrated and left to rot. Engineering leadership seems clueless and unable to present a clear plan-of-action to get things on track. Principal engineers force engineering time to be spent on silly projects that don't move the needle long-term. There is an overall aversion to taking the time to learn deeply about systems being used. Personio feels like a combination of all of the negatives of both a startup and a mature tech company, with none of the positives. The tech is half assed and duct taped together, but still somehow everything moves at a glacial pace. There is a mass shared delusion at the company that an IPO is in reach. No investor is going to buy this company's junk shares on the open market.
