New joiners receive little to no guidance, resources, or supervision, yet are expected to deliver high-stakes outcomes under unrealistic timelines. Decision-making is heavily bureaucratic and reactive, and communication from leadership is inconsistent and last-minute. Work-life balance is easily compromised. Boundaries are rarely respected—calls on weekends, sudden escalations, and changing expectations are common. Emotional labour tends to trickle downwards, and instead of coaching, many managers rely on pressure, optics, and shifting accountability.
