Pros

- Stability. - No pressure on numbers. - Easy sales for ISRs: sales are mainly transactional and order fulfilling. Field reps based in the local country offices look after the most complex deals. - Matlab is a programming language. Engineers learn how to use it at university, so they mainly know what they want when they place an order. - Honestly compensation is high enough, considering the low sales skills required in this role. The main skills needed in this role are: admin, organizational and sales support.

Cons

- The sales experience you gain here is not relevant to most IT companies . - Politics. Even if negative workplace politics is discouraged in the core values, you will find it. Management stick in the company till retirement, due to the low pressure, and have built their comfort zone around them. - Change is slow and discouraged . The main focus is to follow existing processes and changing them with new ones can be cumbersome. - Limited career opportunities.
