Pros

Its a big four company - barely.

Cons

- The interviewers lied during the interview and my job not match the job description in any way (Honestly feels like they put a job description for the wrong job). - Partners consistently acted unethically. - Their office politics are down right gross. - My biggest mistake of life was I joined KPMG Ireland - my mental health became a wreck. - Company doesn't care if their employee is growing or not. - They had virtually no real projects in the 9 months I worked there. This is a garbage dump of a company - don't make a mistake that you will regret. PwC, EY, Deloitte are all much better firms with better people and better processes. This company (or basically a glorified primary school project) just has money to burn and their clients are none the wiser go to a better firm.

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
