Pros

You get paid every week.

Cons

This is the worst job I have ever had and the most toxic, hostile workplace culture I have ever experienced. Our team has to endure bullying and extreme micromanagement, including being told we cannot speak or move from our work stations during our shifts. Managers are aggressive, disrespectful, demanding, and unprofessional with obvious anger management issues. They threaten that they listen to us through the walls to know if we’re talking and are watching and timing us as we take our 15 minute breaks. We have even been timed while using the restroom. Employees are yelled at, condescended, and humiliated. We are constantly discredited and told we do not work hard or fast enough. You will not hear any positive or appreciative feedback about your work performance here. The store manager is verbally abusive and frequently reminds us: “It’s not about you. It’s about the business.” On multiple occasions, employees' earned sick time has been unlawfully withheld, resulting in wage theft. HR presence and support is nonexistent. Complaints filed to document workplace bullying and unethical treatment from management are just ignored by HR. The team is always short-staffed as turnover is high, which is no surprise given such poor management and unsustainable workloads. The store is unsafe and unsanitary, with a dirty, moldy back room full of mountains of boxes unsteadily stacked at least 10 feet high. New trucks full of merchandise are continuously sent multiple times a week despite the store's severe and chronic overcapacity. Furthermore, the amount of pollution and waste (styrofoam, plastics, hazardous materials, cardboard, etc.) produced in a single shift is unbearable to see. Perfectly intact merchandise is thrown away in the dumpster in masses when deemed “out of season.” When asked why the company refuses to donate those goods to charities and instead carelessly sends them to the landfill, we are dismissively told, “That’s our company policy and this is how we do it here.” It is clear the company as a whole only cares about labor and profit at the expense of its employees and the environment, as wages are very low, working conditions are dangerous, company practices are environmentally destructive, and HR will not intervene. Any ethical, supportive organization would make serious changes for its employees and the Earth. This job is very dehumanizing and I would not wish for anyone to work here and experience this stressful, unhealthy environment. Please look anywhere else during your job search. If you work here, you will deeply regret it.

Pros

The people and the company respects diversity.

Cons

After working there after a year, the no fault hours doesn't kick in, if your hired date falls after December. Working with lazy employees and bonus are not fairly distributed, depending on which shirt you work on.

Pros

it is a job if you desperately need one

Cons

management does not keep promises (e.g. I was promised $2 higher pay upon accepting the position and later was told it wasn't feasible anymore once starting. I was also promised a specific day off then last minute had it revoked because they decided to make it a mandatory day). management does not listen to or care about its employees, very unprofessional. store managers don't want to do anything to help, they just sit in the office. management let other employees slack off and do nothing and expected others to compensate for their lack of effort general manager was horribly rude and misogynistic. he threw a box at someone while visiting.
