Pros
Great benefits and compensation. Good middle management and front line staff. Interesting products and markets. Global scope and well resourced financially. Their competition historically hasn't been very strong. Their customers historically have had little relative power, so when market conditions are favorable they make big profits. Yet there are significant opportunitites for waste reduction.
Cons
French management/ personnel dominate, very political, bureaucratic and overly complicated (without reason). If you don't like to travel, don't join them. Strong technical orientation to a fault. Have been internally focused so their rate of learning is less than most organizations. Insufficient customer or competitor oriented stimulation. Personal accountability hasnot been a strong facet of the culture.
