Pros

Really nice, hard-working people who do all the work at the ground level. Faculty also work so hard and are legit educated and really nice.

Cons

Very low pay, low chance of advancing your career unless you are one of the lucky ones who get a promotion every year, while some people who have been working there for years will not get a promotion. Those at the top will only make more and get promoted to a new role. Those who do all the work at the bottom barely get any benefits, and unfortunately a lot of them seem to be OK with it. Elon is a place where, if you drink the kool-aid, seems all sunshine, but if you want to improve your career, get paid well, or even make significant changes in the world, you should find another company to work for. Elon seems to be the place that was well suited for the turn of the Millennium in higher education, but post-covid they have their priorities way out of place. They do not allow people to work remotely, including parents whose children are constantly staying home from school for various reasons--unless you have a lot of sick time added up. It also seems like they don't really listen to staff at all. I was never asked how things could be improved for staff. Oh and HR is great, but they are short staffed because of the reasons provided above so don't expect any changes anytime soon. Some people in powerful positions have been there 15, 20, 30+ years and are not aware of how the world changes including how to leverage technology and sometimes even treat their subordinates very poorly just so they can save face.
