Pros

Dollar General pays Managers well. And in this economy, people with jobs should be thankful to have a job. There are many stores, so there is room for growth and promotion if you are willing to work hard and have good work ethic.

Cons

No job is perfect. It is what you make of it. Retail is hard work. If you are lazy, and ungrateful to have a job, then you will not be happy anywhere!

Pros

The job itself is easy. The cash register, stocking (especially the totes and dry truck) and cleaning are so simple however there are certain things that make it difficult, although the work itself is not (under the right circumstances.)

Cons

They never have enough people on shift so it’s always difficult to get things done. It seems like all the managers I know from the store I worked at and the surrounding ones are all so deep into drama it made me wonder if I was back in high school. Dry truck always seems to bring far too much and the stores are so little that overstock is a huge issue here. The reason I ultimately left was due to severe mistreatment and some safety concerns I had regarding some past experiences. I am very glad I left and I would not ever go back.
