Camunda used to stand for community, autonomy, and technical excellence. That company is gone.
The senior leader other glassdoor reviewers are talking about behaves like a volatile middle-school principal—yelling in meetings, belittling colleagues behind their backs (including their peers), and generally creating toxicity everywhere they go. Everyone talks about it, nobody addresses it.
Transparency is dead. Promotions are arbitrary, performance feedback is weaponized, and internal politics matter more than actual results.
The shift from open-source credibility to enterprise mediocrity is almost complete. Instead of leading the market, Camunda copies competitors and calls it “strategic evolution.”
Morale outside of senior leadership is low, attrition is high, and trust is eroded at all levels.
Don’t be fooled by the company’s public image. Behind the scenes is a deeply dysfunctional, CYA-first culture.
