Strata system - A promotion is not a true promotion. Most of the time it is just a better title with no additional compensation. Long Term Incentives - Only available to a few people. Positions that are Director-level at similar companies are only Manager-level at BASF and ineligible for long term incentives. Can result in substantial pay differences between BASF and non-BASF positions. Limited promotion opportunities. Poor bonuses Middle of the pack financial performance when compared to other large chemical companies. Raises are generally lower than those at other companies. Typically 2 to 2.5% a year as compared to 3% to 4% a year at other large companies. "Diversity" is just another way of saying we hire and promote white women.
