Pros

The people on your team and your direct managers are very good, they clearly care about the people who work under them. I can say from my experience that my Line Manager and Section Manager were excellent.

Cons

The higher management of E.ON and those who make the key decisions clearly have no interest in listening to the staff. It is the staff that do the job day after day whether that is taking calls from customers or working in back office. The new senior management team that came into E.ON were more focused on making budget cuts and getting rid of people. They had no interest in making our jobs easier. It is clear now given the high number of people leaving that this is a company going downhill. It is a shame as the people leaving because these were loyal members of staff who were very good at the jobs they did. Key decisions made were made without any consultation with staff and I believe this mainly to the detriment of the customer. The customer is supposed to be the focus of what E.ON does but instead they have taken away the benefits of being an EON customer and made the staff really miserable.

Thank you very much for your honest review. We are pleased to hear that you had such a positive experience working with your Line and Section Managers but are disappointed to hear that you feel that the senior management are not on the right path. Pros

There's a really extensive benefits package and the pension is generous. You get free drinks from the vending machines at all E.ON buildings. The drinks are however so poor that you'll end up buying ones from the canteen at inflated prices.

Cons

Poor communication, antiquated marketing systems, very hierarchical and toxic environment, too much focus on internal perceptions. Salaries are inflated for job roles and those in higher ranks do not understand what they are leading on, but merely that they are leading something. Managers will take full credit for the work of their team on the basis of 'leading' without offering any direction or input into anything. Very bad office politics. You'll be in meetings 60% of the time. You'll be trying to use and troubleshoot poor internal systems 30% of the time. You'll probably do actual work about 10% of the time. This work may or may not be useful as another restructure or new strategy may make your work redundant. Company is currently making a huge loss at group level and therefore is making cuts in support function roles. They also waste thousands on agencies which deliver the minimums in quantity and quality. The agencies love it. Everyone is aware of the problems but also too afraid to voice them because of the perception issue mentioned at the beginning of this review. Negative feedback upwards cannot be delivered since your bonus, salary increase and career progression are governed collectively by the team above you, including the person you are likely delivering said negative feedback to. If you love what you do and want to do well, this isn't the place for you.

Pros

If you get into the right department and with the right manager there are great prospects

Cons

Too many homphobic people including many managers - Managers are trained and encouraged to use the rweverse peters principle - If you have the wrong manager and you are very work concious your not going to get anhywhere
