A company ruined by top management mediocrity

Pros

I've been working for the commercial subsidiary of E.ON Italia for a lomg time, attending to top management change in 2011. From that moment working environment has got worse and worse. Top management worries only about its own career, it's unable to take any decision in order to avoid any risk and it's exploits people under the threat of firing them. Furthermore some of top managers are involved in heavy conflict of interest situations. Others, instead, bear conflict of interest situations rgarding other employees, clearly for their own profit in this case too.

Cons

The company has stopped growing and investing three years ago and at the moment there are no career opportunities, also because fhe Group is going to leave Italian market.

Until recently I'd have rated EON higher than this

Pros

Some of the team managers and higher managers are excellent. I've made a lot of friends and the camaraderie is very good.

Cons

The contract is virtually useless as they can change everything - pay, location, job role and shifts

Pros

E.ON UK is huge and there are multiple areas in which you could work. Different areas and locations have different working environment. Generally over the past 7 years I have had a variety of roles and most people have been great to work with. Benefits at E.ON are great depending again on what area of the business you start in but on par with other Blue Chip companies. Flexible working is possible depending on the area you work in and the management team in your area.

Cons

Multiple re-organisations makes it difficult for processes to embed and in many cases red tape is increased. The re-orgs also make it difficult to set your own career path. Training can be limited due to cost saving.
