Pros

Work life balance was good on my team. Direct manager was great. Exploring new solutions was encouraged and supported.

Cons

Some teams with outside work hours. Upper management doesn't really know what they're doing. Promotions are extremely difficult.

Pros

Collaborative work culture, good work/life balance

Cons

Executives are bean-counters. We've been through periodic rounds of layoffs that are for no other reason than to fine-tune the company's profit profile. They drop people with no warning (we had just been told in the last company meeting there wouldn't be any more rounds of layoffs) I was just the victim of the most recent one. Apparently, although my entire team and everyone I worked with valued my contributions highly, three levels up the food chain, they didn't care; they didn't even do my manager the courtesy of telling him they were letting me go beforehand. He found out when I told him.
