      Great company to start a career with; great reputation; expect to work hard; poor work-life balance.

      Pros

      The salary is competitive and coleeagues are sharp. Reputation of the Firm is excellent in the marketplace. This is a geat place to launch a career and hone one's skills.

      Cons

      Although the Firm advertises a 'work-life' balance, my experience is that this doesnt hold true (at least in the consulting arm). The hours are long (60+ hours per week) and the travel requirement is usually 100%. The number of vacation days provided is generous; unfortunately, it is difficult to take more than a few days off (a week at most) unless you are between projects. Attrition is in line with industry standards (~20%).

      Pros

      Incredible opportunity to move up the learning curve on different industries; different functions rapidly. This experience can replace business school. The training is fantastic. Salaries are very competitive. Time off is nice, as if you take between projects you can truly take time off.

      Cons

      Limited control over your personal life due to travel of up to 100% in the consutling discipline. The health benefits are adequate, but not great.

      Pros

      Good training in the accounting world. The ability to fulfill the requirements necessary to be licensed as a CPA. Nice friendly people to work with in the entry level positions

      Cons

      Incredibly long hours during certain periods of the year. The downside is that you must put the job before family which might be alright for a man (single or married) or a single woman. But for a woman (especially a single parent) with children, there is no consideration given to your personal life. Out of state travel for prolonged periods of time might be expected which is not conductive to a balanced home life. It was not unusual to work 80 hrs/week during the "busy season".
