      Is a great place to work

      Pros

      You can learn a lot of things if you work at Technical Support. There's a lot of training available to you. Is a big company you have the opportunity to grow. The location of the company is a nice place to live Round Rock. Very nice and quite place. In the town you receive a lot of specials in different places just because you work at Dell.

      Cons

      The managers should be more focus on the objectives. They should give more special promotions to the employees who want to acquire some computers. They should improve a lot of minor issues to become a better place to work.

      “Ability to have Dell on the resume. Ability to develop personal career and relocate to Asia with company. Ability to network with many other intelligent and "connected" employees. Ability to be over worked if you want or like that.”

      Cons

      “General treatment of employees by young and inexperienced managers. Managers that do not listen and do not support ideas to help the company. Managers that are self focused. The quotas are unrealistic for attainment and the ability to OVER achieve goals.”

      Great pay, bad work environment

      Pros

      Dell paid me well and continued to dangle a carrot of more to inspire me to work longer and harder. Located in Austin, which is relatively cheap to find housing. Bonus plans were easy to understand, published for everyone to see. Christmas break was nice as the company really does scale down for about 2 weeks.

      Cons

      Long hours. as they outsource more resources around the world, getting anything done was a pain. The good old boy network is big drawback, that is if you would rather have your work speak for you. Their rating system is idiotic, as it requires a curve to be enforced and good people to managed out as the bottom of your group. Talented people when I started in 98 slowly left and was replaced with people more interested in a paycheck than doing something great and new.
