Great for horizontal development
Pros
You can learn a lot here! Company is strongly supporting internal mobility, also internationally. For junior-to-mid senior roles it's a great place to be. A lot of projects are going on, again offering lateral development/learning.
Cons
Practically impossible to get promoted vertically, managerial postings are filled before publishing (mostly), and even during large scale restructuring the goal is more to ensure the "old dogs" at recycled rather than developing interested employees. Despite it's loud proclamations about challenging status quo (the latest iteration embodied by the slogan "Kein Zeit für Aber - No Time For Buts and Ifs"), the bank (or specifically, the management) is hysterical about risks (any risk). As a result, daily operations are drowned by regulatory stuff activities, continuous audits (often overlapping) and compliance testing.
