Coming out of College it is a good company to start of with Knowledge of low level workers are very helpful to you. Gives you access to move up rapidly to a Grade 13 (That is when things start to get hard) Offers in house courses to help you

Cons

Pay Scale is low especially if you live in NY area and are thinking or having a family and are a grade 14 or less Tuition Reimbursement $10000 per year especially in NY area for graduate courses is low Communication is poor like most big companies.

Pros

(+) Classic training on how to run a business (+) Colgate values are reflected within company culture, caring and work/life balance (+) Retention - many managers have been with the company for a long time (10-20yrs!) (+) Good locations - most sales managers are field-based - home offices or have offices in cities closest to the accounts (+) New U.S. President - has a great management style, leading change!

Cons

(-) Innovation - usually not first to market with new items (-) Cross-functionality within roles - it is difficult to work with other divisions without getting pushback

Pros

strong brand name, stable, people have strong team work spirit. you can have the individual development plan negotiated with the manager and work against it. A caring company.

Cons

pay is not competitive compared to peer CPG companies. local managers' competencies varied across different countries. In some of the market, Colgate becomes the follower of P&G, and the strategies keep change or the time. Lack of long term strategic planning. Sales driven. Marketing is relatively weak. The degree of localization is low. Glass ceiling is even exist for local senior managers. Foreign managers do not necessary show the respect to local employees.
