Pros

You are challenged everyday with the opportunity to make an actual impact to bottom line. Right away you allowed to work on policies that can potentially effect millions of dollars.

Cons

The organization is very top heavy at the moment due to the poor economy and low voluntary attrition and thus, it can be hard to move up in the corporate ladder

Pros

Great facility. Great Talent. Excellent teamwork. Awesome opportunity for increasing industry experience.

Cons

As a contractor, beware of the potential for abrupt pay cuts under the auspice of AT WILL work laws, BAD ECONOMY budget cuts and employment pools. Senior Managers and work group leads in certain (but not all) groups are extremely belligerent in their disrespect towards contractors. In certain circumstances, mid-level managers provide disingenuous feedback to augment their performance as it relates to problem resolution and personal/group production. The VITALITY CURVE approach to performance management turns this potentially outstanding company into an extremely stressful work environment outfitted with the fear of job losses and reprimands.

Pros

Very smart people, by and large. Nice working environment. Tries to allow flexibility for life/work, not necessarily full balance. Compensation pretty generous, especially for Richmond market.

Cons

The company is a creation of consultants and it shows in the culture. Process rules all. And there is a great emphasis of presenting power point decks, rather than using complete sentences. Direct managers can make or break your career progression and they can be a mixed lot. They use the Jack Welch-inspired forced curve for employee evaluation.
