Pros

- Only one Pros : As there are minimal to nil big magnitude projects (yes no business at all currently), you can take your work-life balance to the peak, enjoy free time.

Cons

So many - (1) First of all you need to understand the Capgemini Consulting (CC) structure in India. They have LBS CC (catering to India) and CC India (back-office to support global ops). This org LBS is umbrella org which comprises of IT, Tech, BPO, Analytics ppl majorly (95%) and just a small consulting team (5% .. ~30-40 ppl). Now some facts. India leadership comprises of all who don't understand the importance of consulting (even C of consulting) and have simply patched this strategic service as an add-on service for IT projects. So don't expect any good typical consulting trait projects that firms like Accenture or even PwC/KPMG do. It's all IT related ... hard core process work (SOP for IT) or Change management for some ERP implementation. No value addition at all. (2) Pyramid Problem : 80/20 rule applies here as well. If they wipe off their existing mid-managerial level comprising of all tier 2/3 B-School ppl (who micromanage IIM/XLRI grads) most of their screwed up culture would be cleaned on its own. Existing mid-managerial people are just busy in building their image as 'good performers' though ground reality is that these people lack in basic client management or consulting skills (Imagine a Senior Manager asking about .. how do you calculate NPV? Shocking!) (3) Screwed Professional Development/Growth - No transparency in performance management or professional development at all. Leadership here uses one's Appraisal as tool to settle scores with each other and their immediate juniors. Professional Development or learning is zero. I pray that if you belong to premier B-Schools like IIMs and are reading this post and also contemplating to join this org, may God save you by guiding you to reject it and save your career.

Pros

-decent pay -good benefits -good people at the junior levels

Cons

-lack of leadership -lack of vision and strategy -lack of career opportunities This place needs credible leadership with relevant experience that can produce results. They have talked about growth for the last 7 years, but have gone nowhere. Unless you're desperate, hold out for something else.

Pros

Good market value on CV

Cons

Top down in structure with strict hierarchy and closed door policy in the Paris office linked to the French work culture that is admittedly very different to the Anglo Saxon approach. Consulting projects . As the only outsider (non French) in the office, it is but surprising to face the truth while the firm goes around marketing itself for diversity and mixed teams that is far from the reality.
