Company in turmoil

Business Outlook

Pros

Small consulting company where you can get to know everyone Willing to pay competitively in a effort to attract top talent but apparently all the top recruits go to Deloitte and Bain.

Cons

Leadership is leaving at a rapid rate. VPs and principals are funneling out of there at warp speed. No consistent company direction. Antiquated systems for a supposed technology/IT company. Projects are scarce and resources are sitting on the bench for months at a time waiting to get staffed. Constant fear of layoff for employees on the bench. Wants to be an elite consulting firm but projects are mediocre at best.

Toxic Culture

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Wider Capgemini and the Global Group has strong values which are reflected by the people. Unfortunately Invent UK has veered away from this over the past couple of years as it has prioritised growth and deprioritised people.

Cons

The culture has become toxic over the past few years and Invent does not deserve the reputation of Capgemini Group. Driven by sales, colleagues at all levels have moved away from collaboration to self-interest and self-promotion, with little regard for who they tread on to push their own career forward.

With the leadership changes we are still going through a transition and will continue to respond to feedback and re-enforce the people first culture. Pros

People are nice... on surface level People are nice... if you're from the UK and has the accent People are nice... if you like to show off that you're working really hard (even if you're not) Fairly good pay

Cons

> Company's culture is fake, more revolves around smiling and happy faces rather than doing actual work. I honestly don't know if it's a matter of unfit culture, but I honestly think this company is not for me. People will appreciate you if you pretend to have a supportive and positive attitude, even if you don't do any actual work at all. I actually notice people who hasn't been working for a project AT ALL for a year, somehow got promoted and someone who actually has billables and giving ACTUAL money to the firm didn't got promoted. So you do the math. > Non inclusive team and zero appreciation towards diversity. It's obvious that the company is doing D&I as a matter of a box to tick. Diversity is considered as people who have different skin colors but the same accent, mindset, and topics to talk about (as in they're born and bred in the same country so tell me what part of diversity is this?). People don't care with other cultures - they don't bother to try and get to know you as a person, even more your culture (unless you have contents that are LinkedIn-genic, then yes - they will want to know!). > Projects are all tech. Invent doesn't have a branding position yet (maybe in 2033 they will), think that's why clients engage them for what Capgemini is famous for. If it's something that you want to do then by all means. > Favoritism is everywhere, no constructive feedback, and no appreciation for doing work Once I did a lot of work on a piece, but the work LITERALLY didn't go anywhere. For some reasons (that I didn't know until now) the leaders published another piece with the same topic that has far less quality than mine. Not a single appreciation was given to me - apart from a thank you note. Ever since this I couldn't be bothered to make an effort to be liked by the senior people by doing work.
