Pros

Nothing, they all fake and incapable

Cons

There is a HUGE GAP between employee that can speak mandarin and not. They’ll never ever promoted you unless you are Chinese that fluent in mandarin

Pros

Fast-paced learning environment – ByteDance is known for moving quickly, which means you’re constantly learning, iterating, and growing your skills. Strong engineering & data culture – The company emphasizes data-driven decision-making and high technical standards, making it a great place for engineers, product managers, and analysts. Competitive compensation & benefits – Salaries, bonuses, and equity packages are generally very competitive compared to other tech companies. Ownership and responsibility early on – Employees often get significant responsibility and autonomy, even at relatively junior levels. Innovation-focused mindset – There’s a strong culture of experimentation, creativity, and trying new ideas without excessive bureaucracy. International exposure – With teams across Asia, Europe, and the US, you get to collaborate with diverse, global teams.

Cons

High expectations & performance pressure – Standards are very high, and performance is closely monitored, which can feel stressful for some people. Frequent changes in direction – Priorities and strategies can shift quickly, sometimes causing rework or uncertainty. Work-life balance challenges – Compared to more traditional companies, maintaining consistent work-life balance can be difficult. Top-down decision making in some teams – Certain teams may experience limited transparency or sudden decisions from leadership. Internal competition – The environment can feel competitive, which may not suit everyone’s working style.
