      Pros

      A vast majority of engineers I have worked with in Broadcom are very dedicated and technically very sound. Depending on when you join, the equity compensation could be very enticing.

      Cons

      As Broadcom grew it is losing its tradition. The company is becoming more and more top heavy. The equity compensation drastically rolled back and engineering work is no longer directly tied to compensation.

      working with smart people who share information and experience freely opportunity for advancement within many BU within the company state of art project

      Cons

      Irvine is quite and expensive city research environment is not as good as Rampus or Intel after being for awhile you might get bored
