New Broadcom Make Thing Cheaper, Faster, Better - That is Motto Now

Pros

Is good at lunch time because not so crowded in cafeteria with all the lay-off. Also easier to find parking space. We use to foster innovation - incredible accomplishment and support at Broadcom some time in past. Now we figure how to do more with much less. We build sport car with paper engine now.

Cons

Work life feeling in the pits. Get management to sign off on everything. Pressure to compete. Big concern is how we do cheaper. Work you to stay on cutting edge but without tools. If something broke and you need fixed, be prepared to hear No because cost. Lots of stuff broke. Even people from Avago frighten to lose job.

Ridiculous KPI

Pros

Good pay and benefit in Taiwan.

Cons

* Unfair, very subjective, "black box" performance appraisal (KPI) system. The KPI system encouraged you to compete with your own peer team members, while the expectation from the management team .was to cooperate with your peer team members. * No skill trainings at all, you have to learn everything by yourself to survive meanwhile at the same time you have a lot of workload - very inefficient.

Painful Transition

Business Outlook

Pros

Great company to work for before the acquisition. Decent transition bonus to stay and work through your layoff date.

Cons

Unrealistic expectations from new mgmt. Unbearable work load. Direction and instructions are inconsistent. No sense of empathy for employees. Unpredictable transition schedule - many people let go before end date.
