Pros

The company gives good RSU benefits.

Cons

The company is only interested in generating profits. No more, no less. The CEO insisted we had to return to the office during lockdown--despite several arguments to the contrary--and wouldn't hear a word against it. There appeared to be a distinct lack of interest in employees' well-being, with the insistence that a little extra money thrown at us means we should be happy.

Pros

- Good place to work with excellent colleagues - Work life balance is good - Job stability (many people stay at the company for a long time) - Interesting projects - Excellent implementation of Agile methodology - Good pay and benefits

Cons

- Management are irrationally reluctant to let people work from home, even in the middle of a deadly pandemic. They make you come into the office even though you're not allowed to talk to anyone and have to dial into every meeting anyway because meeting rooms are closed. - The appraisal system is done by imposing arbitrary quotas of "above average" "average" and "below average" performers.

Pros

RSUs Vest quarterly. 100% up to 6% 401k match. Very flexible time off and relaxed atmosphere.

Cons

Constant scorched earth lay-offs. They bought back the fibre optic module team to form OSD then laid off 50% of R&D. Management does not care about quality control. All decisions are driven by the bottom line and Fiscal year Nov, 1. If you company is acquired they will do it after the annual RSU refresh cut-off date NOV 1 so you wont be up for an RSU refresh for over a full year (if you make it that long).
