Pros

There are some very smart and capable people that you can learn from. A lot of information is open and available if you know where to look. Snacks, summer parties, social events. Good benefits.

Cons

Hit or miss if you end up in a team with interesting work and a good manager - the exception rather than the rule. A lot of long-time employees with entrenched views make it a bit of a monoculture. Old technology and tools. A lot of busywork goes on.

Pros

Bloomberg is good for the first year junior hire. They hire a lots of fresh students every year and the pay is not bad.

Cons

It's a disaster to work as senior. Technology is old, no respect for the work you've done, no career path ( they don't even have titles).
