Pros

The office is modern and really pretty with great facilities. Most of the employees are really friendly. Great social events and days out. High performers have access to holidays, lunches, vouchers, tech gifts from vendors etc. Employees not working in a cold sales role enjoy a good life, salaries in those departments are not bad and the quality of life within the office is good for people who don't have sales targets.

Cons

The role was completely mis advertised on a ridiculous scale. It states 70/30 split for new accounts / previous spenders. This is a huge lie, I had over 300 accounts on my list and only 6 were previous spenders, only one of which had purchased anything within the past 2 years. The base salary for sales is very poor, and is only 1k a year above minimum wage. It takes a while to get going with commission so expect your first 12 months to be barely above that (if at all). I was told that OTE for year 1 was 32k which is 8k of commission, this was also false as once employed I saw the true figures, it was miles off that. The management are overbearing and discussions feel like interrogations. I let my line manager know I was struggling with the work and being lied too, after that I was shunned out and ignored until I quit 2 months after that. My hybrid working was verbal advertised to me after 6-10 weeks. However, I enquired about this after reaching this period and was constantly pushed back for over 3 months, excuse after excuse to delay it with no tangible reason given. It is clear to me that it's due to micromanaging and 'not wanting to let employees out of their sight'. It talks about OTE of 100k+ after 5 years, this is a major stretch and I personally didn't know anyone who achieved this. A top tier account manager with a decade of experience were averaging 60-80k a year depending on sector. This kind of role suits someone who is a workaholic and is willing to go all out on the line, hitting the phone all day every day to achieve that. If you value the 'potential' of a good salary at the cost of stress, then this role is for you.

Divided between the old and new

Pros

Nice facilities Good call out days with opportunities to win Occasional activities outside of work arranged Easy to make friends within the company once you are “in”

Cons

The business is divided between the young who are keen to work and earn the money and the old school team members who earn off the back of others. The managers simply sit back and let the orders roll in as they have got good accounts who order regularly. The younger team members don’t have such a luxury and have to hard sell to get the sales in. HR is a joke, contracts never updated. HR is run by one person who is rarely in the office (but that’s another story) Accounts team do very little work, speak to you like they are high and mighty and have no respect for what anyone else does. Sadly the customer services dept is poorly run and I lost count of how many times my customers complained that they were waiting too long for a response from them. IT support team are difficult to get hold of and spend their days playing games on their computers.
