Pros

The compensation and health benefits are average but need to make a genuine effort to improve the work/life initiatives.

Cons

Management style is poor due to to their coercive and authoritative style which creates a poor work climate. Too much emphasis on micromanaging at all levels not allowing employees the flexibility to be innovative, autonomous and responsible.

Pros

Large company with potential opportunities to move around. You can find good employees and managers, but very dependent on the group/business. Strong VP level managers and higher.

Cons

Work experience is very dependent on your group/manager. As a company, BASF talks about doing the right things, such as retaining and recruiting talent, fostering and encouraging diversity, developing their employees, etc. but in reality it's mainly a lot of talk and no action. There is a lot of bureaucracy and BASF is slow to make changes. Very few decision makers outside of headquarters. There is also a lot of office politics and moving up in the organization is mainly dependent on who you know rather than abilities/performance. In addition, management doesn't seem to care when good employees leave the organization. Because of the lack of strong managers at both senior and director levels, the employees suffer and morale can be poor in certain groups.

Pros

The best thing to work with basf is they practice flexible working arrangements. New office, so its really nice. The environment is good, i can everyone is supportive. But the benefits of employee not like other typical mnc, its a bit low than other mnc. The workload can be high depends on teams youre working with. Dont worry basf not that toxic workplace, you going to be happy here if youre permanent employee, if youre a contractor think twice as they dont really going to renew your contracts even though its said renewable, this is due to alot of internal problem.

Cons

As much as a lots of good thing in here. Theres a lot of cons as well. The benefits of employee not that same standard as other mnc. Wish they have transportation allowances, because the parking tix can be very expensive. Some of other team is really hard to work with, they sometimes can be a person that dont undestand anything at all eventhough they are a senior. Some of them is quite selfish. People here tends to have a politics in hiring. They have a lot management redirection, every single year. Constant changing. The basf structure itself is quite complicated, hence you wont understand it in just 3-6 months, it takes a year and more. Have a lot of seniors people (old), hence you know hard to accept people opinion. They should start to hire more young people.
