Pros

BASF is very diverse for a chemical company, with a broad mix of products and sites. Many of the businesses were brought in via aquisition, adding to the diversity. Because of the size of the company and its growth, there are almost always opportunities to apply to new positions if you are willing to relocate.

Cons

Rigid processes from service platforms drive consistency, but some are difficult to use. Collaborative, strategic decision making can at times be confusing causing missed opportunities.

Pros

Solid financial status, lots of cash, investing in new plants and acquisitions constantly.

Cons

Corporate functions not aligned with business needs, many lower and middle managers are more concerned about their own empires, instead of better service internally
