- Opportunity to work on leading edge technology of today and to contribute in creating technology of tomorrow in the area of semiconductor manufacturing and related domains - Global exposure - Working closely with customer and their priorities

Cons

- Not a paymaster - Specialized field with very few noticeable player in market so skills learnt may not be trnasferrable

Pros

Engineers are for the most part quite intelligent and easy to get along with. Many projects were quite interesting and cutting-edge. Good benefits package compared to similar companies (401K matching, employee stock purchase plan, health care).

Cons

Too many reorganizations -- I had a new manager every year. Bad project management in the division I worked in -- frequent late cancellations, scrambling. Office politics also frequently got in the way of project completion. During downturns, the cost-cutting was to the point of ridiculousness.

Friendly Work environment and good salary. There are many knowledge people to learn and good training system. Working hours are reasonable.

Cons

I have been working at Applied Materials Inc. for a little over 1 year. However, I have not found any thing so far. I can not think of any thing about cons.
