Pros

Flexible Good Perks Everything is good in good times when the market is growing

Cons

Very Unstable and lots of layoffs. No Vision at the top management. Strategies changes quiet often. Focused towards USA specially Austin is the centre of the world for them , rest of the world is just an add on. Very self centred and unopen employees, not willing to transfer knowledge for new people to learn.

Pros

Decent pay -Beautiful area -Good benefits -Large company, so lots of places to go in terms of career advancement and relocation -If you're a nerd like me who loves to learn and is interested in advanced manufacturing and cutting edge technology, the fab is a heaven

Cons

-Contractors and vendors are treated like second class citizens--this bothered me even from an outsider's perspective -Inter-organizational collaboration/relations can be VERY bad -Career advancement entirely at the hand of your direct manager as a technician -Managers imposed arbitrary limits/time-gating on advancement/promotion that aren't even written in policy -Working in a full bunny suit much of the day -Work can be very hard and fast-paced, or very, very slow (most days are very slow). Can't expect much consistency in R&D -Even though the work is largely, blue collar, you will get a lot of office politics and white collar passive aggressiveness in the work culture. You'll find there are many unfriendly, and conniving coworkers. This culture seems to be encouraged. You can end up feeling lonely at work or falling into weird clicks like a high school due to this lack of personability.

Pros

Work life balance is good. Travel opportunities to Israel and Southeast Asia Pretty interesting domain if you are interested in domain more than software Cab facilities, WFH and other boring stuff Good for well settled people who just want to raise their kids in Bangalore.

Cons

Pathetic technology stack to work with. All the new tech will be discussed and developed secretly in Israel and will be handed over to India team after 2-3 years for maintenance. No training plan for lateral hires, need to roam around and ask everyone about the legacy framework that they use. Any new ideas and tech suggestions from India are always ignored and suppressed specially in AI/ML domain. Too many meetings and too many reorganizations. Half the time gets wasted in convincing people from the other side. All the managers are old guys who joined the company as a fresher and don't align well with new managers and architects, that's why so many of new guys leave. And every manager keeps a prodigy with them who gets all the good work, promotions while others are being ignored. Currently there is a trend to hire everyone from GE probably to imitate all the failures from there to here. It's just a regular offshore account of an MNC where all the cost cutting , and maintenance work happens, nothing different .
