- No tangible progression unless you're a targeted favourite.
- cult like morning information blasts that have no impact on the wider team.
- no real bonus or incentive to push unless you're a manager.
- No work life balance - especially if you're in a shopping center store. I had plenty of colleagues who barely saw their kids.
- Targeted harrassment from managers around attendance, for many years they operated in a "3 in 3" work flow for sickness and then changed to percentages to target people who couldn't consistently stay in the store due to mental health/physical issues and then fired them.
- Asking for employee's to do ergonomic adjustments and then ignoring them completely.
- Other side of the double edged sword is that this companies clientelle are some of the most abusive people i've ever dealt with and I think it is large part due to Apple's approach to trying to maintain a high level of customer service and a premium warranty - the expectation is sometimes to go "above and beyond" for very simple tasks.
