Pros

Amazon.com does get software out the door, but the attitude is to push things out as fast as possible and then leave someone else to clear up the mess.

Cons

Management want employees to bad mouth each other. Really! Management get together once a year to decide whether each group manager has to fire 10% or whatever of his workers. Some groups lose 60% of their staff a year. Management are slow to act before problems. When problems they only think about who they can blame.

Middle management is weird. Very little focus on employee benefits. On call load can be a little too much. Attrition rate is high.
