Pros

The people who work there are nice and its easy to connect with them because everyone there has the same thing in common - suffering because Amazon is a terrible company to work for

Cons

Whatever you hear about bad working conditions at Amazon - it is true. Work is ridiculously hard. You are just a small ant on the back of an enormous monster that is moving at a rapid pace. Nobody cares about you. What matters is that you get your numbers in and this is true for every position inside the company. Nothing else matters.

Pros

Challenging problems. Very clear promotion criteria, and plenty of room for growth in a steady manner. You choose your lane. Decisions are very data-driven, and are usually made for the benefit of the customer.

Cons

Internal tools are often clumsy, and are probably the most frustrating aspect of work you would encounter. As a software developer, you take operational responsibility for your applications and have to do on-call work. Collaboration between teams in different offices often takes a long while.

Pros

There is a lot to learn and you learn very fast because you are basically thrown in the deep end and have to figure things out by yourself. You are forced to be proactive and step outside your comfort zone. You get a lot of freedom in the way you choose to work. You are given responsibility from day one. It is common to communicate directly with higher levels. It is easy to move around the company and there are so many areas I think it would be impossible to get bored here.

Cons

Long hours with no control over how much one is working. Too many processes are Excel based which aren't at all optimal for a company this size. Quality and amount of data in certain areas is lacking. Managers are given responsibility for things they have no power over.
