Pros

For the most part, the people make working at Accenture great.

Cons

I felt that the laddering for pay raises and promotions were not fair in that tenure was given the most priority in making those decisions, and not performance. They were very willing to promote a person because they had been at a particular level for a long amount of time, rather than promote an "all-star" who had been at that same level for a shorter amount of time.

Pros

Great opportunities..we work with some of the best clients and interesting work, but the best reason is the people we work with. We get the best people from university and I work with teams at client site and in our offshore centers and the talent is great across the board. I learn from my colleagues than I ever thought I would.

Cons

Hard work. Clients pay a lot for us and demand over-delivery. I have to work overtime just to get the job done...but I'm paid pretty good for it, so think it's worth it.

Pros

Great People - this is by far the number one reason I stay. You will always have a few in management who doesn't know how to manage, or you wonder why he/she is where they are, but all in all, after 4 projects, I have always enjoyed working with the people both on the Accenture side as well as the client side. Accenture could do a better job of fostering their best people and to take a more proactive role in developing/honing their leadership skills.

Cons

No clear career growth path at the moment for those who want to grow with in the company. No focus on leadership training which is desperately needed. Many senior executives are from the Andersen days - and if we look at the Managers and Sr. Managers now - and at the type of work Accenture are doing - Accenture is looking more like a SAP tech shop than anything else.
