3M has been a great place to start my career.

Pros

Company is innovative with directionally correct leadership. 3M has excellent products and technology as well. As an employee, I've had many of opportunities to develop, and great mentoring as well.

Cons

Company is bureaucratic, although I can't speak to whether it is more so than other large companies. Also, some of 3Ms competitors seem to pay better.

Opportunities abound if you look for them, great benefits, mostly friendly co-workers.

Cons

Entitlement is abound! Some people will not go out of their way to help (e.g. not my job); improvements do come, but are slow to materialize. Hourly employees are paid by their job classification regardless of performance.
