Q. Someone calls in advising their screen wont come on. What would do you to diagnose and help them? My reply would be power cable, vga cable. HDMI. Screen resolution etc etc. This is a basic question but cover all scenarios briefly. Q2. Someone calls in and tells you they cannot print. There were questions about sound of youtube not working on a works PC...now think about the fault but also user privilege as nobody should be able to log on to youtube! There were no questions about active directory, which i could have answered, but they simply went for really easy ones. Let's be honest IT Helpdesk 1st line is pretty easy if you have been using/fixing pc's before.

If you came to a client (in our case this means a banker with a technology problem) who had an issue, and you didn't know what the problem was... how would you go about resolving the issue? How would you keep the client calm?
