Starting far down on one of the lines, a beam of light is shot to the other line, and it keeps bouncing back and forth toward the interior of the angle until a perpendicular angle is created. In the technical interview, they showed me some seismic data and walked me through the process, and asked me a few questions. I strongly suggest for the second interview to study seismic imaging if you're not in the field.
