She is asking as if expecting a poor response: You said your preference is the overnight shift, Why? What do you expect from that shift? (I’ve worked overnights and most are just excited to find you. I’ve never been asked to present my reason to be evaluated for employment. I’ve been asked if I can reliably report for work 5 nights a week and weekends)

It doesn’t demonstrate the ability to learn what it will be or if I have the aptitude to do it. I have no specifics)
