What is a difficult situation you have been in and how you handled it? What is unique about you?
Lots of behavioral questions such as past experience with diffucult boss or co-worker, time you went above and beyond the job, example of when you messed a task up and how you fixed it, ect.
Nothing was necessarily difficult. Make sure you know the HR laws.
The questions were based off of the resume and very standard.
What are you looking to do in the next phase of your career?
Tell me about a time that you had conflict in the workplace?
Describe a policy that you created.
Through all stages the questions were very particular to employee relations. There seemed to be almost no focus on anything else and no concern about the capabilities beyond ER.
THere were no difficult or unexpected questions. My advice is to review the usual and unusual behavior type questions. And be prepared to explain how your past experience (research included) will contribute to the position you are interviewing for. For example, if you discuss you recent thesis project explain your research process in terms that relate to the position interviewing for. Correlate your graduate assistantship experiences or any other experiences to the position interviewing for. This is key to promoting further interest by Cummins.
