We discussed ECU and PLC logic controls such as the Basler 2020 and John Deere ECU software. We covered servicing the prime mover aspect of diesel fire pumps. Over all we touched on the major job functions of a field service technician and their roles in a rental as well as service setting. We also discussed equipment and tools to ensure I was geared to be able to perform any job function from changing oil, to pulling a head or injector, to diagnosing a bad DVR performing a full new install and start up. We discussed the size of generators I was used to working on as well as voltages and application. The entire process took about 3 hours most of which was filling out paperwork for HR and the applications for DOT screening / physical in addition to the standard back ground check.
