What is your management style?
They asked standard questions, such as how I would deal with antisemitic matters on campus, my fundraising experience, etc. I think my values were more progressive than theirs. I shared that I hoped to create dialogue between Jewish and non-Jewish groups, and encourage them to participate in difficult conversations around race, gender, Israel, antisemitism, etc. to create greater understanding and awareness. This isn't a knock against Hillel -- I just don't think that this is their priority.
They asked a lot of practical questions about running a 501c3. Everyone was very knowledgeable. I got the feeling they didn’t quite know what they wanted politically, but that’s honestly to be expected with a group this young.
