How would you negotiate with suppliers to generate savings under tight timelines (ex. 2-week’s)?
Tell me about yourself? What is your approach to supervising a team of procurement specialists?
It was bizarre that they only asked me conflict resolution questions. Nothing was asked in regards to my career. Typical questions were "tell us about a time you had difficultly working with a co-worker and how did you resolve it." They also asked "tell us about a time you had a difficulty with a senior member of staff and how did you resolve it." Also, "tell us about a time you had a difficulty with a customer or vendor and how did you resolve it." The interview questions were from a script. In defense of the interviewers they may have been forced to ask only these questions or they stuck to the script because they were uncomfortable with interviewing people.
Most questions related directly to purchasing and managing purchasing staff. However, there were some that were related to financial forms and reports that are performed by the accounting section of the agency. Although the position does have some interaction with this information, it was not expected at the interview.

Yes, You seem like a great fit. I’m going to send your application to the VP.
