Questions about all of your travel experience in the relevant region. A short sales pitch to the interviewer of a pineapple, a pair of shoes or a destination. Face to face Interview - Relatively basic question about how you would handle various situations common in the role, how you have handled various situations in the past, Why Audley Travel again? Short role play where you answer the call of a potential customer who wants to go on Honeymoon in the region you have applied to specialise in. THIS PUTS YOU ON THE SPOT. Be prepared to discuss your sales background and your passion for travel.
No crazy questions, the one that was most challenging was "Sell me a shoe, a city or a pen in under 2 minutes" (they time you!). They ask what you know about the company, what qualities you think are needed for the position (so make sure you reread the job description a couple times before the interview!), and experiences you've had that make you a good candidate. Be ready to answer questions about what would make you a good fit for the company, what makes you a successful sales person, your views on travel, and your past travel experiences. It seems like having a lot of knowledge of or experience in one of the regions they're looking for would give you an edge over other candidates, but that's not really something you can do much short-term prep for.
How do you handle stressful situations at work? Have you ever had to work under pressure? How do you deal with sudden changes? Do you you manage your time? Standard Sales-y questions.
who would you have for dinner
If a customer says that they’ve found a cheaper quote elsewhere, how will you ensure that they book with Audley?
How I would manage in a targeted environment
If applying for sales positions, expect questions about handling objections and building booking urgency.
