I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Zalando (Berlin) in Mar 2023
Interview
The process was really nice. I attended following interviews:
1. HR Call (+ Value interview)
2. Codility Test (135 Minutes
3 tasks (medium to hard))
3. Call with the potential Team Lead
4. 3 interviews - General Tech, System Design, Coding
5. Feedback
I received the feedback in less than 24 hours after completing the last interview. You need to invest some time in the recruiting process which is fine and in the end is worth your time. All interviewers were really pleasant to talk with. All in all I liked the interview process!
Some Tips:
- Look at some typical algorithms
- Look at data structures and understand how they work internally
- I highly recommend looking at System Design. It is a really interesting topic and you'll need it. You can thank me later.
- If you don't know something, tell them. You can't know everything and they like honesty!
- Just keep in mind that the interviewers are humans and they know that you are in a nerve wracking process. They were once in your position.
- When you are attending the system design interview they probably give you one sentence. Ask for all the requirements!
- Be communicative in the coding interview. I know that you are not typically talking while coding, but try your best! Don't hesitate to ask questions and make sure you understand the task correctly before you start!

Had a FANG-style interview with three rounds: a live coding session (sliding window problem), a system design interview focused on an e-commerce platform, and a behavioral round. The process was structured and engaging, testing both technical depth and communication skills. Overall, a great learning experience that felt fair and well-balanced.
