I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Texas Instruments in Sep 2010
Interview
I had 4 phone interviews (with recruiter, hiring mgr and 2 of hiring mgr's colleagues). Hiring mgr mostly talked about the job itself, didn't ask me many questions, but the other 3 asked lots of questions about my relevant work experience. To prepare, I had made a list of the relevant experience I had for each work responsibility 'bullet point', in case they asked, and they did. About one week+ later, I was brought on site for an in-person interview with the hiring mgr, the hiring mgr's boss and one other person. Again, the hiring mgr didn't have much to ask, and mostly just talked about the job. The mgr's boss had good questions, but thought I was better suited for another open position on their team. So they had me speak with the hiring mgr for this other position, but she and I did not click at all, and that was that. I still sent my thank-you notes but never heard from them again!

Interview
The interviewers were friendly and asked several questions. It was nothing past a phone screen unfortunately, but they were very open to questions. I don't think I researched the company well enough, but overall gave a good impression.
