I applied online. I interviewed at Target in Feb 2017
Interview
The interview was terrible. My husband used to work for the same store and they made a comment about how he didnt workout so how would they expect me to and based my whole interview around him instead of giving me a chance to show what i could do. In the process of all this i defended my husband because at the time of him working their he had just gotten out of the military and hadnt been fully diagnosed with his medical condition yet. We had a 2 year old little boy and i was pregnant so he wanted to provide for his family which went well for awhile until he had to do the early morning shifts and became somewhat unreliable as we had just found out he had a condition called narcolepsy. I feel as though i should have never had to explain anything about my husband and they should have focused the interview on me and what my abilities were. As i told them my husband and myself are two different people and have two different work ethics.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Target (Winchester, VA) in Feb 2017
Interview
My first interview got cancelled because the manager called out sick (?) and I had to rescheduled for an awkward time, the very next day. I was pretty unprepared. I waited 20 minutes after the interview time, the manager (shift leader type? I'm not even sure what he was as he didn't properly introduce himself) led me to the back of the store and we started the interview. There was approximately NO small talk, which made it really awkward. I have never had an interview when the interviewer had absolutely no interest in talking to me about my current job or even about themselves, in fact, I barely had any questions pertaining to the job I was interviewing for. It was mostly cause and effect type questions from my past. There was not an opportunity to "sell myself" so to speak. I have 6 years of management and supervisory experience and a year and a half merchandising experience including POGS and building fixtures. I guess my experience wasn't enough for them.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Target (Houston, TX) in Oct 2015
Interview
Sit down with a department manager then the store manager. I'm sure you can find the Target questionnaire online. Just explain what experience you have merchandising and why you like the company.
